To find out more about Inner Power, please follow the links below and read this page.

"If one practices martial forms without also training for power, in the end one will have achieved nothing."

Master Wang Ji Wu (1891 - 1991)

Nei Gong is the father of Qi Gong in China. When you arepracticing Qi Gong exercise, you are practicing a diluted form of Nei Gong. Nei Gong is related to any set of Chinese breathing and meditation disciplines associated with Daoism, and in particular the Chinese martial arts. Nei Gong practice is normally associated with the soft styles, or internal Chinese martial arts, as opposed to the category known as Wai Gong ( external skill), which is historically associated with hard styles, or external skill Chinese martial arts.

Nei Gong exercises involve cultivation of mental stillness with focused movement and special breathing techniques. This process is meant to induce the relaxation of muscle and tendon channels.

The intention of this process is to develop a high level of coordination, concentration and technical skill that is known in the martial arts world as neijin, or inner power.

Wang Ji Wu's Sixteen Health Exercises were developed over one man's 90 year period of training in the Xing Yi Quan method.   These exercises were designed to both cure disease and help the weak become strong.   They boost the vital energies of the body, harmonize yin and yang and in the process develop inner power.   They are an excellent method of building vitality and harmony amongst the three treasures of essence, energy and spirit.
