However, do not think that this herb is only for women.   The functions of Dang Gui on the promotion of fresh bone marrow and blood are vital to everyone under the sun.   Dang Gui is one of the most widely used Chinese herbs, appearing in a range of popular tonics as well as on its own.

Angelica sinensis has been used in TCM for thousands of years. It is often used as a blood purifier and tonic, and it is effective in the treatment of painful menstrual cycles. It is also used to treat anemia, since it is said to stimulate blood flow and the flow of energy. Men may use dang gui as a general blood tonic.

Dang Gui is considered a blood-harmonizing herb, which means it has a variety of applications, some of which include:

Tonifying the blood and improving circulation, protecting the heart tissue against damage from lack of oxygen, boosting the immune system and stopping pain.

Chuan Xiong, or ligusticum root is also an important herb in TCM used to treat a variety of complaints.   This herb is unique in that it not only moves blood but also Qi, the bioelectric force inside of the body.   This is vital in that Qi and blood circulate together inside of the body.   For example, your heart must use electricity to pump in order to push blood through the vessels of the body. Chuan Xiong is commonly used in the treatment of head aches and pain throughout the body.
